About Neal Winfield
I have been painting and drawing all my life and studied glass design and art history at the now sadly defunct Stourbridge College of Art in the West Midlands, UK.
For a number of years I also ran my own stained glass studio in Cilfynydd, South Wales, where I undertook private commissions, ecclesiastical repair work and a number of panels for pubs and bars around the area. Eventually the desire to escape artistic poverty took a serious hold and I sold out to the man.
The following 16 years were spent in the recruitment industry working on large projects like the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Bay Barrage before deciding to return to my creative roots. I now makes a living painting, writing and teaching in central Italy and surprise to say I am a happier man for it (on a good day).
While never using it as an excuse, I am blind in one eye and colour blind, as well as being left handed. This is not mentioned for any other reason than to explain the deliberately strange perspectives and occasionally mis-placed colours. These are normally done intentionally and meant as a way of illustrating the wonderfully distorted view on the world I experience.
If you find my work of interest or wish to discover more about my views on art please feel free to drop me a line at travellingcontent@gmail.com, I'd love to hear from you.
